Angela graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from Gordon College in 2006 with a degree in Visual Art. While at Gordon she was profoundly influenced by travel to Nicaragua which led her to pursue her Master’s in Social Work at Simmons College (now University) in 2009.
Angela has been working with children and families for the past 11 years as a social worker. She has worked in community mental health, provided in-home counseling to families involved with DCYF and DJJS, and worked most recently as a social worker at a high school. From cross-cultural work, to working across disciplines Angela continues to learn and be challenged by her clients. Angela utilizes art and play as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches with all her child and adolescent clients and their families. Angela is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and completed extensive training on Child and Adolescent Anxiety in 2020 (certificate pending).
